We work with girls in all age groups and have four age categories:
n:vestigate – 4 to 7s
n:gage – 8-10s
n:counta – 11-13s
n:spire – 14-18s.
Each age group follows their own appropriate programme materials, which are themed. All the girls and young women work towards badges to celebrate their achievements.
The programme is really varied and includes things like craft, games, discussions, singing, fundraising, Bible stories, drama, dancing, faith exploration, competitions, new skills, and much, much more!
As well as our regular meeting night, throughout the year we also have the opportunity to join other groups locally for times of fun, outings, special church services, bbqs, award night, and young leader weekend away for the teens. So look out for letters home when something is being planned, especially as some events are suitable for all the family!
Who are Girls' Brigade
Although we are currently a small group we are part of a bigger GB family locally and nationally. The group is run by volunteer leaders who love working with girls and young women… seeing them make friends, learn new skills, achieve, have fun, and learn more about Jesus week by week. GB is a Christian organisation and groups are attached to a church, but GB is open to those of all faiths and backgrounds.
